Breaking: NCDC Confirms Three New Cases Of Omicron Variant

Seven new cases of coronavirus and the death of three COVID-19 infected persons in Abuja has been confirmed by the Federal Capital Territory Administration, FCTA.

The FCT Minister, Mallam Muhammed Musa Bello in a tweet on Sunday confirmed the development while also announcing that another 39 patients have been discharged after testing negative to the virus.

Naija News recalls the Nigerian Centre for Disease Control, NCDC, on Saturday night confirmed Two-hundred-and-thirty-nine (239) new cases of Coronavirus (COVID-19) in Nigeria.

This brings the figures of the pandemic to a total of 4151 in Nigeria.

Out of the 239 new cases confirmed, seven were recorded in the capital territory.

The tweet by the FCT Minister which confirmed the cases reads, “Dear FCT residents, I am happy to announce the successful treatment & discharge of additional 39 COVID-19 patients in the FCT after their subsequent tests returned negative.

“Total number of discharged patients in the Territory now is 85.

“Sadly, we recorded 3 more deaths while 7 new cases have been confirmed as at May 9, 2020.

“Total number of confirmed cases: 343.

“Total number of active cases: 250.

“Residents are urged to take preventive measures seriously.”
