Nigerian Senator representing Abia North Senatorial District, Orji Uzor Kalu have finally been released from the Nigerian correctional facility in Kuje, Abuja, earlier today after spending five-month for allegedly stealing public funds.
Naija news Understands that the freedom of the former Governor of Abia states was as a result of the verdict by a seven-man panel of the Justices of the Supreme court who nullified judgment delivered by Justice Mohammed Idris of the Federal high court, Lagos which sentenced Ude Udeogu and Senator Oriji Uzor Kalu to 10 and 12 years imprisonment respectively.
According to the report, Justice Eko declared that Justice Mohammed Idris, who convicted Mr. Kalu, was already a justice of the Court of Appeal when he ruled and sentenced Mr Kalu and his co-defendant.
However, Naija News learnt that Orji Kalu has now moved to his residence off Queen Amina Street within the perimeter of Aso Rock Presidential Villa, sources said.
