The Cross Rivers State Governor, Ezenwo Nyesom Wike, has revealed that those arrested while trying to gain entrance into the state from the northern part of the country would be tested for Coronavirus.

Naija News understands that Governor Wike said so while reacting to the arrests of 14 men who hid in trailers conveying cows from the Northern part of Nigeria.

According to Wike, both the trailers and the cows intercepted on Thursday, May 7 in the state would be auctioned.

This online news platform understands that security agents positioned at the state border on Thursday night, arrested trailers loaded with cows with humans hiding underneath them, breaching the interstate travel ban.

Wike has, however, said that the arrested persons would first be tested for COVID-19 and then be charged to court.

Meanwhile, in a report a few days ago, the Northern Elders Forum has accused some states in the country of releasing a false figure of Coronavirus cases in order to attract attention and get a huge amount of money from the Federal Government.
