NCDC Confirms 195 New Cases Of Coronavirus In Nigeria

The Nigerian Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) on Wednesday confirmed 195 new cases of coronavirus in Nigeria.

This brings the total number of cases in the country to 3145.

According to the breakdown by NCDC according to the states, 82-Lagos, 30-Kano, 19-Zamfara, 18-Sokoto, 10-Borno, 9-FCT, 8-Oyo, 5-Kebbi, 5-Gombe, 4-Ogun, 3-Katsina, 1-Kaduna and 1-Adamawa.

The NCDC figures also confirmed 534 persons have been discharged while 103 deaths have been recorded.

President Buhari’s Personal Aide Reveals His Coronavirus Test Result

Bashir Ahmad, the personal assistant on new media to President Muhammadu Buhari has revealed the result of his recent COVID-19 test.

The presidential aide while disclosing his result, noted that it wasn’t a pleasant experience and urged Nigerians to abide by all guidelines put in place by health experts before things get back to normal.

Ahmad disclosed his test result in a tweet on Wednesday via his Twitter page.

He wrote: “Couple of days ago I underwent a COVID–19 test, it was indeed an unpleasant experience. Please be extra careful out there, abide by all NCDC’s guidelines, so you won’t have to experience a similar test before things get back to normal. My result returned NEGATIVE. Alhamdulillah!”

FG Extends Flight Ban By Four Weeks Over COVID-19

The federal government of Nigeria has extended the ban imposed on local and international flights by four weeks over the outbreak of Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

Naija News the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Boss Mustapha, made this known at a briefing of the presidential task force on COVID-19 on Wednesday, May 6.

Mustapha who is the Chairman of the presidential task force on COVID-19 said after due consultation, the federal government decided to extend the flight ban by four weeks.

COVID-19: NCDC Releases Fresh Guidelines For Nigerians, Offices

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has listed new coronavirus (COVID-19) preventive guidelines for Nigerians and companies.

This was announced by the Director-General of NCDC on Tuesday, Dr Chikwe Ihekweazu.

The NCDC DG disclosed that the new guideline involves the mandatory use of a non-medical face mask for all persons and during the overnight curfew from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m.

He also discouraged the use of latex gloves, stressing that they should only be used in clinical settings.
