2023: Badaru Speaks On Withdrawing From Presidential Race

Over 100 persons have reportedly died in Jigawa State in recent times under mysterious circumstances, prompting serious concerns among the residents of Hadejia.

This has prompted the people of the area to cry out for help before the situation gets out of hand.

The strange deaths have been confirmed by Sani Kakabori, Special assistant to the local government council chairman on media who noted that over one hundred people, mostly of old age, died within the last ten days.

This has prompted the Jigawa State government to constitute a five-man committee to investigate the increasing number of deaths in the community.

The State Commissioner of health, Dr Abba Zakari, who also doubles as the State Chairman, COVID 19 Taskforce, disclosed this to newsmen in Dutse, the State capital.

He added that the Committee is chaired by Dr Mahmud Abdulwahab, and has Shehu Mohd, Yusuf Hakimi, Shehu Sule, and representatives of the World Health Organization, WHO, as members.

Naija News understands the committee is expected to submit their reports within three days and make recommendations for appropriate actions.

Meanwhile, it will be recalled Kano State is also experiencing a number of mysterious deaths which has forced the state government to set up an investigative committee as well to look into the matter.

The state government initially said most of the deaths were not COVID-19 related but there are fears and concerns in many quarters that the deaths may be as a result of unreported coronavirus cases.
