Popular Nigerian singer with a unique and sonorous voice, Simi has urged Nigerians not to go out even as the gradual easing of the coronavirus lockdown commences in many states.

The singer warned that it is better and safer to stay at home except such persons have compulsory things to do outside.

Taking to Twitter on Monday, she advised that staying at home during this period is a form of self-love adding that nobody is invincible to the coronavirus infection.

“The people that eased the lockdown are inside…so nobody can love you like you love yourself. If you don’t have to be out, stay at home. Also, if you can avoid cash transactions, do so. Stay away from crowded areas. You’re not invincible,” she wrote on her Twitter account.

It will be recalled the President of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari approved the conditional and phased relaxation of the lockdown imposed on Abuja, Lagos, and Ogun States due to the coronavirus outbreak.

He said the relaxation should take effect from Monday 4th May.

This was contained in his speech during his nationwide broadcast on Monday, 27th April, 2020.

Many state governors have also taken a cue from the President’s action to gradually ease the lockdown and open up economic activities in their respective domains.

However, the government has also warned people to continue to maintain social distancing, obey instructions from health experts and continue hygienic behaviours as efforts remain on-going to totally contain the virus.
