Atiku Under Attack Over Comment On National Grid Collapse

Amidst the COVID-19 pandemic and the battle for daily meals in Nigerian, some staff of a notable private communication company has been sacked in Adamawa state.

Naija News recalls that in observance of the international workers’ day, The National Chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, Adams Oshiomhole yesterday appealed to the employers of labours against dismissing of staff workers as a result of COVID-19 pandemic.

However, this has become the reality as over forty-staff of Gotel Communications, a media outfit owned by Nigeria’s former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar were relieved of their duties by the organization.

Naija news learnt that the affected workers were handed their respective sack letters by the company, in a letter by its General Manager, Mohammed El Yakubu,

The letter reportedly read, “The management has decided to discontinue your services with immediate effect.“Consequently, please be informed that your entitlements including stipend in lieu of the notice will be computed and posted into your account with immediate effect.”

Meanwhile speaking on the retrenchment of the staff, Atiku’s media aide, Paul Ibe, said some employees of the company wre sacked due to rationalization of staff in Gotel, and the outcome of long-standing company restructuring.
