1. Nigeria Records 204 COVID-19 Cases, 80 In Kano, 45 In Lagos

Nigeria has recorded 204 new cases of coronavirus (COVID-19) in the West African country.

Naija News reports that the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) confirmed this in a series of tweets on the micro-blogging site, Twitter on Thursday evening, April 30.

2. Buhari Extends Tenure Of NDDC Interim Committee

President Muhammadu Buhari has extended the tenure of the Interim Management Committee of the Niger Delta Development Commission led by Professor Keme Pondei-led from May 1 to December 31, 2020.

The President revealed this development in a statement released through his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina.

3. Why We Can’t Reveal Names And Details Of Beneficiaries Of COVID-19 Palliatives – Minister

The federal government of Nigeria has explained why it can’t publish details of beneficiaries under the COVID-19 palliatives being given to citizens.

The Minister of humanitarian affairs, disaster management, and social development, Hajia Sadiya Umar Farouq explained that it is against the norms to publish the names of individuals that benefit from such government interventions.

4. Lagos State Discharge 12 COVID-19 Patients

Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State has announced that the state has discharged 12 Coronavirus patients.

The Lagos State Governor revealed this development on his Twitter account, he noted that a Ukrainian was one the patient discharged.

The President Muhammadu Buhari-led government has revealed that it will work effortlessly to curtail the spread of Coronavirus in Kano State.

This claim was made by the Chairman of the Presidential Task Force on Coronavirus, Boss Mustapha, at the daily briefing on Thursday.

A video of a young man and his father went viral and trended for hours on the social media a day ago after a drama that ensued between the two as a result of fear of been infected with Coronavirus.

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control has declared that it may start treating COVID-19 patients in their homes.

This was stated by Chikwe Ihekweazu, director-general of the NCDC, today while briefing the presidential task force on COVID-19 briefing on Thursday.

8. COVID-19 Patient Escapes In Zamfara State, Declared Wanted By Government

A middle-aged man identified as Jamilu Shinkafi who tested positive for coronavirus infection has been declared wanted by the Zamfara State government.

Shinkafi was said to have fled after testing positive to the virus.

9. Federal Government Offices To Open May 4 – Presidential Task Force

The Presidential Task Force on Coronavirus has noted that Federal Government offices will be opened starting from May 4.

The task force noted that it would discuss with state governments to ensure they are on the same page with the Federal Government on the development.

10. PSG Crowned Ligue 1 Champions Amid COVID-19 Pandemic

According to the report monitored by Naija News on Mail Online, Paris Saint-Germain, PSG, have been crowned Ligue 1 champions despite the halting of sports activities a few months now due to the outbreak of Coronavirus pandemic across the world.

PSG has however emerged winner of the France competition with a few point ahead of their close contenders, Marseille.
