A local hunter has landed himself into trouble amid the ongoing Ramadan fasting after he allegedly murdered one Hammed Idowu, a commercial bus driver.

According to the report which has been confirmed by the Kwara State Police Public Relation Officer, Ajayi Okasanmi, a man identified as Suleiman Tajudeen, a local hunter, has been arrested for being responsible for the death of a commercial bus driver who hails from Eiyenkorin, a community not far from Ilorin, the state capital.

The report said, “the commercial bus reportedly driven by one Hammed Idowu, now late, coming to Ilorin through a bush path in order to avoid police checkpoint at Eiyenkorin as a result of the Covid-19 lockdown in the State, was intercepted inside the bush path by a local hunter named Suleiman Tajudeen, employed by the Alagbado community, at Eiyenkorin.”

“altercation between the victim who was the driver and the hunter led to the shooting to death of the driver by the hunter.”

Mr Okasanmi reveals that Mr. Kayode Egbetokun, Kwara State Police Commissioner, has directed the Criminal Investigation Department to dig further into the matter.

Some angry mobs, reportedly colleagues of the deceased tried to put up a show but were stopped by security operatives, Naija News learnt.

However, the remains of the 34-year-old Hammed Idowu has been buried on Wednesday, April 29 at the Ilorin Muslim cemetery.

It could be recalled that men of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), on Monday, April 20 reportedly grabbed seven commercial vehicles who were passing through Ilorin, in Kwara State from Lagos State.
