Former Jigawa Speaker, Adamu Ahmed Is Dead

The former Speaker of the Jigawa State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Adamu Ahmed is dead.

The two-term speaker under the Peoples Democratic Party died in a hospital after suffering from yet to be disclosed illness.

He served as Speaker of Jigawa State House of Assembly for eight years during the tenure of Dr. Sule Lamido (2007-2015).

Adamu was the longest-serving speaker since the creation of the state in 1991 who had never faced any impeachment threat.

The former hailed from Gurgun Daho village in Kafin Hausa Local Government Area of Jigawa State, he was a one-time chairman of Kafin-Hausa, majority leader in the state assembly under former ANPP-led Ibrahim Saminu Turaki.
