COVID-19: Main Reason For Drastic Increase In Lagos – Banky W Reveals

Renowned Nigerian singer, actor and politician, Olubankole Wellington, better known by his stage name as Banky W has aired his opinion on why Lagos State is experiencing a drastic increase in the number of COVID-19 cases daily.

Naija News understands that there were insinuations by Nigerians that since the arrival of the Chinese medical experts in the state, cases of the novel Coronavirus disease has been alarming in Lagos state.

However, Banky W took to his social media account, Twitter precisely, to give a contrary opinion.

The singer noted that the increase in cases of COVID-19 in the state was as a result of the increase in a testing capacity.

Banky W stated further that the true number of cases of the killer virus are much worse than Nigerians are presumming.

He tweeted: “The numbers started soaring because we have drastically ramped up the number of tests we are doing every day, bro. 

“The true numbers were always MUCH worse than what we knew. We were just under-testing and under-reporting because of a lack of testing capacity.”

Meanwhile, Naija News reported earlier that Lagos State which has been having the highest record of the novel virus had zero records on Monday night as Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), announced thirty-eight new cases of Coronavirus in Nigeria.
