President Muhammadu Buhari has reacted to the fire outbreak at an IDP camp in Ngala, Borno State which led to the death of 14 people and many others injured.

The fire incident saw fourteen people burnt to death and dozens injured on Thursday at the IDPs camp.

The IDP camp was created in 2015 when 30,000 civilians fled their homes in the wake of attacks by the Boko Haram terrorist group and have been taking refuge at the camp.

The President in his reaction to the incident directed the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development to investigate and report the circumstances leading to the incident and advise on how a future occurrence will be averted.

Buhari’s reaction was revealed in a statement released through his spokesperson, Garba Shehu on Thursday.

He further directed that urgent assistance be immediately given to the victims, and prayed to Allah to repose the souls of those whose lives were lost, and the quick recovery of the injured persons
