Two lovebirds in Taraba State on Saturday changed the narrative of many people wanting to pull a crowd to their wedding ceremony, hosting a long day reception and party throughout the day as they tied the knot in their living room with just family and close allies.

John Lawrence Ogwuche and Faith Nathaniel Odang, has become the talk of the moment as the two lovers could not allow the present lockdown in Taraba state to mar their already set wedding day.

Naija News understands that due to the coronavirus pandemic outbreak in Nigeria, there has been a total lockdown order in various states. However, this two could stop their wedding but decided to hold it in their living room.

Speaking with newsmen in an interview on Sunday, the bridegroom noted that it was their decision to go ahead with the wedding in the living room. Adding that the narrative of using wedding ceremony as an avenue for fundraising, crowd-pulling should be set aside, rather the focus should be to celebrate true love between two people.

He said: “It takes people that know what they want to go ahead with such an occasion. Wedding is not about how much you raise or the number of people you pull. Wedding is an individual thing, how you want it. What happened yesterday was an agreement between the two of us,”

“Yes, coronavirus is on its own and wedding is on its own. So, we decided to go ahead with our wedding not minding the coronavirus in the country. In the part of the country we had our wedding, we have not confirmed any case,” he added.

“It was because of precaution that the state was locked down and this is an occasion we have been planning for, a date has been fixed. So, I see no point postponing it because people are not going to attend among other issues. We don’t care, we had our wedding and our reception.”

Ogwuche stated further that their wedding also went like that because it was a divinely planned.

He said: “There are certain people that things in their lives don’t happen without a reason and I believed my wedding wouldn’t have been this popular if it hadn’t happened yesterday.”

“It was a divine arrangement for it to happen and to pull so much attention across the country. That’s what made you (referring to this reporter) to call me. If not for the wedding, you wouldn’t have known somebody like me.”

“My wedding should pass a message to those who had fixed their wedding,” said Ogwuce who advises intending couple to learn from their wedding.
