Nollywood actress cum producer, Funke Akindele has given the reason behind her decision to hold a party in her Amen Estate home on Saturday in spite of government’s directive banning social gathering and restricting human movement.

Saturday was Funke Akindele’s husband’s birthday and the celebrity couple decided to throw a house party that had quite a number of guests in attendance, including controversial Nigerian singer, Naira Marley, Funke’s best friend, Eniola Badmus.

Funke Akindele-Bello, who celebrated the love of her life, Abdul Rasheed Bello, popularly known by his stage name JJC Skillz, took to her social media page to explain the reason for hosting people in her home.

She explained in a post on her Twitter handle that she has been together with everyone in the party for over two weeks, she, however, deleted the post after she was tongue-lashed on Twitter.

She wrote;

“Thanks for the love guys!!!! We all have been together for over two weeks. We are safe and take all precautions!!! #ameestate is home for all.”

Nigerians have since expressed their displeasure in the actress act. They described the act as highly irresponsible and disappointing and described Akindele who happens to be an ambassador to the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC and Dettol as a bad example to the nation.

They also urged the government to arrest them and quarantine everyone who attended the party.
