Coronavirus: Niger State Reviews, Relaxes Restriction Order

Niger state government on Sunday relaxed its restriction order imposed on the state to curb the spread of the deadly coronavirus (COVID-19).

Speaking to newsmen in Minna, the Secretary to the Niger State Government, Ahmed Matane, said the new restriction would now begin from 2 pm to 10 pm daily.

He said that civil servants would resume on Monday, 6th April 2020 from 8 am to 2 pm adding that markets would also be opened during this window of movement.

The SSG further said that by Friday and next week Sunday, there may be congregational meetings in mosques and churches.

Naija News reports that the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) on Sunday confirmed 10 new cases of the deadly coronavirus (COVID-19).

The NCDC made this known in a post on Twitter on Sunday.

Of the 10 new cases, six cases were confirmed in Lagos, two cases confirmed in the FCT, two in Edo.

“As at 11:15 am 5th April there are 224 confirmed cases of #COVID19 reported in Nigeria.

“Twenty-seven have been discharged with five deaths,” NCDC wrote.
