COVID-19: Ooni Imposes 10 Hours Curfew In Ile-Ife For Spiritual Cleansing

Ile-Ife has been placed on 10hours curfew by the Ooni of Ife, Oba Enitan Ogunwusi, in other to carry out some spiritual cleansing against the global pandemic, Coronavirus (COVID-19).

Announcing earlier, Chief Oyelami Awoyode, who speaks on behalf of the renowned monarch said that the curfew will take effect from the hour of 8 am on Thursday through 6 pm of the same.

He, however, warned residents to remain in their abodes while the spiritual exercise is going on.

Naija News understands that the said spiritual cleansing would be carried out through the instrument of a deity, known in the Yoruba culture as ‘Oro’.

Oyelami reiterates further in his announcement that anyone fails to obey the order and is caught will have himself to be blamed as the deity is no respecter of any individual irrespective of social status.

He noted that the following points where the spiritual exercise will focus on include, Sabo, Ilare, Iremo, Oja-ife, Ita-Osun, Ita-agbon, Iloro, Ilode, Iwara, Isale-agbara, Arubidi, and Ondo-road among others.

Naija News recalls that the Ooni of Ife, Enitan Ogunwusi, has earlier listed some herbs, leaves, and vegetables found in Africa as capable of treating the coronavirus.

According to him in a video he shared, the herbs can be used to cure the deadly virus.
