Governor Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna State on Saturday announced that he has tested positive for the deadly coronavirus (COVID-19). In a statement to newsmen the governor revealed that he has gone into self-isolation.

2. See Photos From Explosion In Akure Which Destroyed Over 50 Houses

Earlier today, NaijaNews reported that a very massive bomb explosion in Ilu- Abo in Akure north local government area of Ondo on Saturday morning, destroying over 100 residential buildings, school and churches Naija News understands. The explosion was reportedly caused by a truck owned by a quarry company carrying explosives, the explosion created a big ditch on the Akure/Owo road.

3. Benue Records First Coronavirus Case As Ortom Orders Deputy To Undergo Test

Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State on Saturday backed-tracked after initially announcing the imposition of a dusk-to-dawn curfew on the state. Naija News reports that the governor had stated that the dusk to dawn curfew will begin in the state from Sunday.

6. Coronavirus: Buhari Govt To Give Stipends To Nigerians – Finance Minister

The Minister of Finance, Budget and National Planning, Zainab Ahmed, says the federal government led by President Muhammadu Buhari is considering giving out stipends to people whose jobs have been affected by the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak. Naija News reports that the Finance Minister made this revelation while speaking on Politics Today, a programme on Channels TV.

7. Coronavirus: Presidency Denies Plan To Pay N30,000 Stipends To Nigerians

The Presidency has denied reports that President Muhammadu Buhari has approved N30,000 stipends to be given to every Nigerian with a verified Bank Verification Number (BVN) to cushion hardships occasioned by the coronavirus (COVID-19). Naija News reports that the Minister of Finance, Budget and National Planning, Zainab Ahmed, had said the federal government is considering giving out stipends to people whose jobs have been affected by the coronavirus outbreak.
