Nigeria has recorded 11 new cases of coronavirus in the West African country.
Naija News reports that the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) confirmed this in a tweet on the micro-blogging site, Twitter on Friday night, March 27.
According to the NCDC, of the eleven coronavirus cases recorded on Friday evening, eight were detected in Lagos, Nigeria’s commercial city, two in Enugu state and one in Edo State, southern Nigeria.
The development means the number of cases of coronavirus in Nigeria has risen from seventy to eighty-one.
Popular Nigerian singer, Davido, has confirmed that his fiancée, Chioma, had tested positive for Coronavirus.
This, he disclosed through his verified Twitter page this evening.
He added that he is currently in self-isolation.
Davido, however, noted that his result and that of his baby boy came out negative.
The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Comrade Adams Oshiomhole has tested negative to coronavirus.
This development was confirmed to Naija News in a statement on Friday signed by Mallam Lanre Issa-Onilu, National Publicity Secretary of the APC.
His statement reads in part: “Following fears he could have physically interacted with person[s] who tested positive to the coronavirus.
“Oshiomhole presented himself for a test on Thursday and it has just been confirmed that the result returned negative.”
