Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike has allegedly sacked the General Manager of the state-owned Newspaper Corporation, Vincent Ake.

Naija News Understands that this was made known in a statement issued by the state Commissioner for Information and Communication, Paulinus Nsirim as no reason was given for the sack of Vincent Ake who was asked to hand over to the most senior officer at the time.

However, one of the Editors of the state-owned media organization said the GM was sacked for publishing reports on the first case of COVID-19 in Rivers State without first getting approval from the Taskforce on Coronavirus set up by the state government.
