1. COVID-19: President Buhari Commends Stakeholders, Urge Nigerians To Be Calm And Obey Instructions

Muhammadu Buhari, President of Nigeria has commended the efforts of all stakeholders including state governments and other institutions as well as individuals working in containing the spread of coronavirus in Nigeria.

The President who also gave the commitment and assurance of his administration in tackling the outbreak urged all Nigerians and other residents in the country to comply with regulations and restrictions on movement.

2. Nigeria Records 14 New Covid-19 Cases, Coronavirus In Nigeria Now 65

Nigeria has recorded 14 new cases of coronavirus in the West African country.

Naija News reports that the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) confirmed this in a tweet on the micro-blogging site, Twitter on Thursday evening, March 26.

3. Coronavirus: Bashir Ahmad Debunks Report Claiming That President Buhari, Abba Kyari Have Travelled Out

President Muhammadu Buhari’s Personal Assistant on New Media, Bashir Ahmad, has debunked the report that the President Muhammadu Buhari and his Chief of Staff, Abba Kyari, have been secretly flown out of the country for treatment.

Information spotted online has it that the President and Kyari have secretly left the country to treat themselves of Coronavirus.

4. Boko Haram: Troops Record New Success Over Terrorists In Borno

Troops of Operation Lafiya Dole (OPLD) in a recent operation has reportedly recorded a success after ravaging two hideouts belonging to the Islamic State of West Africa Province (ISWAP) terrorists at Muktu in Northern Borno.

According to the report which was confirmed to newsmen on Thursday, March 26 by the Acting Director, Defence Media Operations, Brig.-Gen. Bernard Onyeuko, the OPLD troops their recent mission on Wednesday, March 25, destroyed two locations where the terrorist are allegedly keeping their logistics.

5. FG To Ban Inter-State Travel, Close All Motor Parks Over Coronavirus

The Federal Government led by President Muhammadu Buhari has announced plans to ban the interstate movement of people as a strategy to curtail the spread of Coronavirus in the country.

Naija News reports that the decision of the Federal Government was disclosed by Bashir Ahmad, the Personal Assistant on New Media to President in a tweet on the micro-blogging site, Twitter on Thursday afternoon, March 26.

6. Lai Mohammed’s Coronavirus Test Result Emerges

The Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed, has tested negative for Coronavirus.

Naija News reports that the minister disclosed this at a media briefing in Abuja, Nigeria’s capital on Thursday, days after meeting Covid-19 infected Abba Kyari.

7. Lagos Assembly Lifts Suspension of Lawmakers

The Lagos State House of Assembly on Thursday lifted the suspension of four lawmakers, Moshood Oshun, Raheem Kazeem, Rotimi Abiru and Wahab Jimoh.

This was made known by Speaker of the House, Mudashiru Obasa, at the start of plenary activities on the floor of the House.

8. Treat Coronavirus As A New Enemy – Goodluck Jonathan Charge Nigerians

Former Nigeria President, Goodluck Jonathan has called on Nigerians to fight against the outbreak of Coronavirus with solidarity and actions.

Jonathan called Nigerians to act as good citizens by following the measures put in place by the Federal Government and its agencies to fight against the outbreak of COVID-19 in the country.

9. Lagos To Discharge Six COVID-19 Patients

The Lagos State Government has revealed that six patients at the Infectious Disease Hospital have recovered and will be discharged.

This was made known by the Special Assistant to the Lagos State Governor on Health, Dr Tunde Ajay.

10. US Declares Venezuela’s President, Nicolás Maduro Wanted For Drug Crimes

The United States announced Thursday that Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro, and others close to him, have been charged with “narcoterrorism”, further increasing pressure on the socialist leader whom the US wants to be ousted.

Washington is offering a bounty of up to $15 million for any information that would lead to his arrest.
