1. Federal Government Is Not Giving Out Free Money- NITDA Boss Reveals

The National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) has appealed to all Nigerians to disregard a “fake” website which claims that the federal government is issuing grants and financial assistance to Nigerians to help them stay secured and fight the deadly Covid-19 disease.

Speaking via a press statement through the NITDA Head, Corporate Affairs & External Relations, Hadiza Umar, it cautioned Nigerians not to visit the site which claims the Federal Government is giving every citizen ₦8,500 weekly following the outbreak of the coronavirus.

2. COVID-19: Atiku Gives Federal Government N50m Relief Fund

Nigerians Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has given out a total sum of N50million as relief fund to fight the war against the COVID-19 pandemic in the country.

Atiku, in a press statement he personally signed and made available to Naija News on Wednesday said his contribution will help “form part of the stimulus package.”

3. Gov Fayemi Appeals To All To Governors Go Into Self-Isolation

Chairman, Nigerian Governors’ Forum, NGF, Dr. Kayode Fayemi has told all governors to go into self-isolation immediately after being exposed to contacts who have tested positive for Coronavirus.

Chief of Staff to the President, Abba Kyari and Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State tested positive for Coronavirus on Monday and Tuesday respectively.

4. 20 Judges In Osun State Go Into Self-Isolation After Coronavirus Outbreak

Twenty judges of the Osun State judiciary who recently returned from a trip to Dubai in the United Arab Emirates are presently on self-isolation.

This was confirmed to newsmen by the Commissioner for Health in Osun State, Dr. Rafiu Isamotu on Wednesday.

5. Stop Abusing Chloroquine, It Doesn’t Cure Coronavirus – NCDC Warns

Nigerians have been advised against the use of chloroquine in a bid to cure the ravaging coronavirus pandemic.

The warning was given by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), in a post on its official twitter handle.

6. COVID-19: Health Commissioner Reveals The Truth On Yahaya Bello’s Test Result

There has been an ongoing rumour that the result of COVID-19 test carried out on Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello was positive, contrary to the governor’s report that he was tested negative.

However, a statement from Kogi state Commissioner for Health, Dr Saka Haruna on Wednesday, March 25 has cleared the air by stating categorically that governor Yahaya Bello was tested negative, hence declares the rumour of the positive test result as fake.

7. Osinbajo’s Coronavirus Test Result Out

Nigeria’s Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo (SAN), has tested negative to the deadly Coronavirus (COVID-19).

This is coming barely 24 hours after Osinbajo went into self-isolation following fears he could have physically interacted with some persons who tested positive.

8. Coronavirus: Miyetti Allah Orders Members To Stop Selling Meat

The Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore has ordered its members to shut down cattle markets all over Nigeria to curb further spread of the coronavirus disease.

The directive was given after an emergency meeting on Monday which held at the association’s headquarters in Abuja.

9. Gun Men Kidnap Bauchi Gov’s Brother, Adama Mohammed

Governor Bala Mohammed‘s elder brother, Adamu Mohammed Duguri, has just been confirmed kidnapped this evening.

Naija News understands that he was allegedly abducted around 7:30 pm on Wednesday at Anguwar Jaki in Bauchi metropolis.

10. COVID-19: Prince Charles Tests Positive For Coronavirus

A test carried out on the Prince of Wales, Prince Charles has revealed that he is infected with the global pandemic codenamed COVID-19.

Naija News learned from a report by Telegraph UK that the 71-year-old Prince has tested positive for Coronavirus following a display of mild symptoms which has forced the prince to be self-isolated.
