Barcelona Set To Release 8 Key Players (Full List)

Spanish La Liga giants, Barcelona are said to be considering letting eight key players leave the club at the end of the season.

This is coming amidst earlier reports that the FC Barcelona squad have been reported to be in disagreement over an alleged proposed salary cut from the club due to global COVID-19 pandemic.

It is understood the club is pushing forward a proposal which demands their well-paid players to sacrifice part of their earnings to the club in other to help in the fight against coronavirus outbreak which has been spreading like a whirlwind across nations, negatively impacting football games and the world’s economy.

A report by Barca Blaugranes has it that the Spanish club is considering letting Ivan Rakitic, Arturo Vidal, Samuel Umtiti, and Philippe Coutinho leave the club at the end of the season.

Other players said to be on the list include; Antoine Griezmann, Carles Alena, Martin Braithwaite, and Neto.

Barca is reported to be willing to let these players leave in order to make money and space available to bring in new players.

Rakitic and Vidal are out of contract next summer, and Barca is reportedly keen to avoid losing them for free.

Injury has affected Umtiti’s form while Coutinho has drawn interest from top clubs in England.

Griezmann’s future is also linked to the arrival of Paris Saint-Germain star, Neymar or Inter Milan’s Lautaro Martinez at Camp Nou.

At the same time, the Blaugrana are open to offers for Braithwaite or Neto.

Before the coronavirus outbreak forced the La Liga to be suspended in Spain, Barca was top of the table with 58 points from 27 matches.
