COVID-19: Atiku Reacts As Kyari Tests Positive

Mallam Abba Kyari, the Chief of Staff to Nigeria’s President, Muhammadu Buhari has tested positive for the coronavirus (COVID-19) infection.

According to the Nigeria Center for Disease Control (NCDC) who confirmed the status of the President’s chief of staff he has commenced his treatment.

Naija News had earlier reported that Mr. Kyari visited Germany and Egypt and only returned this week.

Mr. Kyari returned exactly a week later on Saturday, March 14th, but did not show any symptoms. He reportedly had a meeting on containing the COVID-19 pandemic in Nigeria all through Sunday, where he reportedly started to cough.

He then voluntarily submitted himself for testing and was informed of his status yesterday. Kyari has however gone into absolute isolation following the test result.

Following the recent disclosure, The former Vice president Atiku Abubakar whose son also tested positive yesterday  has reacted to news that the Chief of Staff Abba Kyari has tested positive for coronavirus.

Atiku sent prayers and greetings on Twitter, he wrote; “My thoughts and prayers are with Chief of Staff, Abba Kyari. Allah ya kre mu gabaki daya, kuma ya bashi lafiya – AA”.
