Suspended chairman of the Special Investigation Panel on Recovery of Public Property (SPIP), Okoi Obono-Obla, has been arrested by the Independent Corrupt Practices and other Related Offences Commission (ICPC). Naija News reports that the Wanted Ex-SPIP boss was arrested by the anti-graft agency on Friday in Abuja, Nigeria’s capital.

The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has postponed the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) for school candidates, 2020 indefinitely over the outbreak of coronavirus in Nigeria. 5. FG Limits International Flights To Just Two Airports In Nigeria

The federal government of Nigeria has limited international flights in and out of the country to just two airports as parts of efforts to curb the spread of coronavirus. As confirmed on Friday, 20th March 2020, all international flights have now been restricted to the Muritala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos State and the Nnamdi Azikwe International Airport in Abuja by the Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria (FAAN).

6. Coronavirus: Stop Playing Cheap Politics – Presidency Fires Back At Senate

The presidency has declared that it is on top of the situation despite President Muhammadu Buhari yet to personally address Nigerians since the outbreak of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in the country. Presidential spokesperson, Garba Shehu, made the declaration in response to the recent call by the Senate for President Buhari to address Nigerians.

7. Dismissal Threat: Nigerian Government Ask Abuja Doctors To Return Back To Work

The Federal Capital Territory Administration has warned striking resident doctors to return to their duty posts within the next 24 hours or face the mass sack. Speaking at a news conference in Abuja, the FCT Minister of State, Dr Ramatu Aliyu, said the directives were necessary after an emergency meeting of the top management staff of the FCTA.

Governor Seyi Makinde has taken responsibility for the lapse in judgment that led to the unification rally of the Peoples Democratic Party in Ibadan on Wednesday. 9. COVID 19: Kogi FA Bows To Pressure, Suspends Football Activities’

Kogi State Football Association, KSFA, has bowed to pressure as it announced the suspension of all football activities ongoing in the state. It could be recalled that the Nigerian Football Federation, NFF about 24 hours ago announced on its website the cessation of all forms of football activities in the country as a result of the global coronavirus pandemic, Naija News report.

10. Please Run For President – Simi Begs Gov. Makinde

Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde has been advised by Nigerian female singer, Simi, to run for the position of Nigeria’s president. Simi took to her social media account, Twitter precisely on Friday to commend the governor for his statement following a barrage of complaints and blast by Nigerians to Seyi Makinde over a recent rally led by him in the state.
