Coronavirus: MAPOLY Ask Students To Vacate School

Students of the Moshood Abiola Polytechnic (MAPOLY), Abeokuta in Ogun State have been asked to stay back at their various locations due to the current development of the deadly virus spreading across the country.

The announcement was made in a statement issued on Friday by MAPOLY’s Public Relations Officer, Yemi Ajibola who noted that the school management decided to take the step as part of measures to prevent the spread of Coronavirus.

He said, “the Bureau of Tertiary Institutions has sent a letter that all higher schools of learning should shut down as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic.”

Ajibola states that as from Friday, March 20, all the polytechnic student should go back to their various home, as directed by the management.

Meanwhile, the Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU) Ile Ife has asked all her students to leave the school with immediate effect due to the spread of the deadly COVID-19, Naija News report.

A statement by the Public Relations Officer of the University, Abiodun Olarewaju, on Friday, said the closure was in compliance with directives from the Federal Government.
