A night fire, cause yet unknown reportedly burnt down students hostel at Kafin Hausa Science Secondary School in Jigawa state.

In a statement confirmed to newsmen by the Spokesman of the Nigerian Security and civil defence corps, SC Adamu Shehu in Dutse, the capital city of Jigawa, an inferno on Monday night caught up with a student hostel which is capable of accommodating over 100 students.

Adamu stated that the fire started when most of the students were already sleeping after their daily routine.

“The fire completely razed down the hostel and the properties of the students,” he said.

“However, no casualties were recorded but properties worth millions of Naira were lost to the inferno.”

Adamu noted that investigation is currently ongoing on the incident as the cause of the fire is yet to be known.

Meanwhile, Naija News had reported about 48 hours ago that not less than 23 shops and goods believed to be worth millions of Naira have been destroyed in a fire incident at Owode market in Offa, Kwara State.
