COVID-19: Lagos Set To Teach SS3 Students On Radio And TV

Final year secondary school students in Lagos State may likely be engaged in an electronic class as the state is planning to launch a TV and Radio programme in order to help them prepare well for the West African Senior Secondary Certificate Examination (WASSCE).

The development was hinted by the state Commissioner for Education, Mrs Folasade Adefisayo on Thursday, in an interview with LTV.

Folasade noted that the state is making arrangements for secondary students in their final year education (SS3, particularly those sitting for the 2020 WAEC Examination, adding that teachers would pre-record lessons in eight subjects for broadcast on radio, television and online.

The subjects to be taught include English Language, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Literature-In-English, Financial Accounting and Economics, Naija News understands.

This online news platform had earlier announced that the Federal Government led by President Muhammadu Buhari has ordered the immediate closure of tertiary institutions and unity schools across the nation as a measure to check coronavirus in Nigeria.

Naija News reports that the permanent secretary of the ministry of education, Sonny Echono, disclosed this in a statement on Thursday night, March 19.
