Just In: Result of Suspected Coronavirus Patient In Enugu Out

The Enugu State Ministry of Health has stated that the suspected coronavirus patient in Enugu has been confirmed negative.

Naija News recalls that the Nigerian Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) had Sunday disclosed that a fresh case of Coronavirus was recorded in Enugu State, southeast Nigeria.

The NCDC in a tweet on its verified Twitter handle said the patient was taken into isolation pending the result of the test.

The Centre maintained that samples have been collected from the patient and sent to the laboratory, adding that the result of the test is expected to be out tomorrow (today).

In a statement on Monday, Permanent Secretary Ministry of Health in Enugu, Dr Ifeanyi Agujiobi, said the tests carried out at IRUA Specialist Hospital, Edo State proved negative.

According to Agunjiobi, the results have been confirmed by the Nigerian Centre for Disease Control (NCDC).

“We hereby enjoin the general public to go about their normal business however to remain alert and vigilant observing basic personal health hygiene,” he stated.
