Breach Of Trust: Court Sentences Adamawa Chief To Eight Years Imprisonment

A man who has been parading himself as a legal practitioner in Ogun State for six years has been arrested by the state Police Command on Thursday, March 12.

Naija News has learned of a man, Lawrence Oyedenu in Ogun State who according to reports have handled several cases in the state, representing his clients in court sittings with a fake portfolio.

Oyedenu, however, ran out of luck after he allegedly received a sum of Four Hundred Thousand Naira (N400,000) from a client who he was supposed to represent in a court sitting.

Reacting to Oyedenu’s arrest, the Ogun Police Commissioner, Kenneth Ebrimson, disclosed that “the suspect had practised law for over five years in within the state and yet he is never a lawyer,” he said.

This online news platform, however, understands that Oyedenu has been arrested and detained at the state police headquarters, Eleweran, Abeokuta.

Meanwhile, in his confession to the crime, Oyedenu reveals that he had studied law at the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN).

In another news reported a few weeks ago, a human rights lawyer, Tope Akinyode, has demanded the arrest and prosecution of the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Adams Oshiomhole.
