Minister Of Health Gives Update On Infected Italian, Others

The Minister of Health, Dr Osagie Ehnaire, on Thursday, announced that the Italian man infected with the dreaded Coronavirus in Nigeria will soon be discharged.

This is coming after the minister on Friday, February 28, 2020, announced the first case of the Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in Lagos State.

Dr Ehnaire while speaking at a press conference with the diplomatic community in Abuja, said: “The victim will be discharged soon.”

He also revealed steps employed by the Federal Government of Nigeria to tackle the spread of Coronavirus in Nigeria.

The Minister of Health further stated that there are only two confirmed cases of the virus in Nigeria.

Recall that Osagie Ehanire, on Monday, 9th, 2020 confirmed a second case of the deadly coronavirus (COVID-19) in the country.

The minister who gave the details of the new case at the boardroom of the University of Benin Teaching Hospital said the victim had contact with the Italian that brought coronavirus to Nigeria.
