Juventus Defender, Rugani Tests Positive To Coronavirus

Italian professional footballer, Daniele Rugani who plays for Serie A champions, Juventus has tested positive for the coronavirus disease.

This was confirmed in a statement by Juventus who added that the club has activated necessary procedures as required by law.

The 25-year-old defender came on as a substitute in his club’s last game, a 2-0 win over Inter Milan on March 8, which was played behind closed doors.

“The footballer Daniele Rugani has tested positive for Coronavirus-COVID-19 and is currently asymptomatic.

“Juventus Football Club is currently activating all the isolation procedures required by law, including the census of those who have had contact with him,” an official club statement read.

Rugani was seen on Twitter celebrating with his teammates in the dressing room after the win against Inter Milan.
