1. Dethroned Emir Sanusi Leaves Loko, Nasarawa Residence

The dethroned Emir of Kano, Sanusi Lamido Sanusi has departed the Nasarawa residence where he is being held in exile after he was deposed on Monday by the Kano State government.

According to information gathered by Naija News, he was airlifted in a helicopter on Tuesday afternoon. Initially, no word was given about where he was being taken or circumstances surrounding his movement.

2. Court Rules On Bayelsa PDP Guber Candidacy Tussle

A Federal High Court has affirmed Senator Douye Diri as the true candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the Bayelsa Governorship election.

Justice Tijani Ringim in a judgment which lasted for about two hours, dismissed the case that the Plaintiff failed to prove his case.

3. How We Recovered N3.7bn From NDDC – Buhari

President Muhammadu Buhari on Tuesday revealed that law enforcement agencies recovered over N3.7billion as well as various assets worth billions of Naira from contractors and former directors of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC).

He made this known during the inauguration of NDDC Advisory Committee, comprising 9 Governors of the Niger Delta Region and the Ministers of Niger Delta Affairs and Environment.

President Muhammadu Buhari has sent an executive bill to the National Assembly seeking the amendment to the recently passed Finance Act 2019.

The President’s letter was read during Tuesday’s plenary by Speaker, Femi Gbajabiamila and Senate President Ahmad Lawan at the House of Reps and Senate chambers respectively on Tuesday.

6. House Of Reps Postpone Consideration Of $22.7billion Loan

The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila, on Tuesday announced the postponement of the consideration of the report on the $22.7billion loan request by President Muhammadu Buhari.

The postponement was announced by the Speaker following the ongoing consultations with the Minister of Finance, Zainab Ahmed.

7. Sanusi Gets Fresh Appointment From Government After He Was Removed As Emir

Mallam Muhammadu Sanusi has been appointed as the Vice-Chairman of the Kaduna State Investment Promotion Agency (KADIPA).

His appointment comes barely 24 hours after he was removed as Emir of Kano by the State government under the leadership of Governor Abdullahi Ganduje.

8. Crude Oil Benchmark: Federal Government Set To Review 2020 Budget

The Federal Government might have to revisit the crude oil benchmark price of $53 per barrel used to prepare the 2020 budget.

Policemen had to be drafted in to restore calm after a clash between traders and members of the FCT task force degenerated beyond control on Tuesday.

Traders in the Dutse market and members of the FCT task force clashed over the demolition of some shops in the market.
