Paris Saint-Germain striker, Kylian Mbappe has tested Negative to COVID-19.

Naija News learnt that the 21-year-old has been struggling with a throat complaint over the past two days and, although the issue appears to be a tonsil infection, PSG reportedly opted to rule out the possibility that it could be more serious.

It is unclear whether or not Mbappe will be fit enough to start the second leg of PSG’s UEFA Champions League round of 16 tie against BVB, who beat the French champions 2-1 at home.

“With all the news about the coronavirus, with Kylian Mbappe now, we have a lot of things to think about, a lot of things to adapt to. But at the same time, it is a football match and we must adapt,” Les Parisiens boss Thomas Tuchel said.

“I really hope we are capable of adapting, we have a lot of confidence we can adapt. But the difference is too big to talk about it. It’s huge.”

The game will be played behind closed doors due to the coronavirus outbreak in France, with the Ligue de Football Professional confirming that all Ligue 1 and Ligue 2 games will be played without fans present until at least 15 April.

Mbappe has scored 30 goals and assisted another 17 strikes in just 32 appearances in all competitions for PSG so far this season, with five goals and five assists coming in the six UCL games he has featured in.
