Manchester United forward, Odion Ighalo has been asked to make a reverse of his retirement from playing for his home National football team, Super Eagles.

The recently signed forward of the English Premier League side has been advised by former Arsenal legend and Nigeria striker, Nwankwo Kanu, to return home and support his homeland team in the field of play.

Naija News understands that Ighalo who joined Manchester United in January 2020 has netted three goals in the few games played so far in all leagues.

Meanwhile, the 30-year-old forward had previously announced his retirement from the Super Eagles, following his participation in winning a bronze medal for the team at the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt.

Kanu in his remark on the good performance of the Shanghai Shenhua frontman, who joined United on six months loan said, “Nigeria needs every good player no matter where they are playing or their age.”

“If he performs in Manchester United, we will ask him to come back and tell him to forget what he said.”

“This is football and we have to watch and see how the situation would unfold. Not just Ighalo, Nigeria need whoever is in form,” he told Goal.
