Naija News earlier reported that the Kano State government-led by Abdullahi Ganduje on Monday, March 9, dethroned Emir of Kano, Muhammad Sanusi II, followed the State Council executive meeting presided over by the Governor.

Sanusi was removed from office over allegations of gross insubordination.

A few hours later, Naija News further reported that Crown Prince, Aminu Ado Bayero has been declared the new Emir of Kano Emirate. The Kano State Governor Umar Ganduje approved the appointment of His Highness Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero as the 15th Emir of Kano, after the nomination of 3 prospective candidates by the Kano Emirate Kingmakers.
