2023: Don't Go Into Politics, Shehu Sani Warns Sanusi

Mallam Muhammad Sanusi was on Monday, 9th March, dethroned as the Emir of Kano by the Kano State government under the leadership of Governor Abdullahi Ganduje.

As previously reported by Naija News, Sanusi was removed from office over allegations of gross insubordination.

A statement by Alhaji Usman Alhaji, the Secretary to the Kano State Government, said Emir Sanusi’s dethronement was due to his “total disrespect to lawful instructions from the office of the governor and other lawful authorities.”

The government also disclosed that a new Emir will be announced soon.

However, amidst reactions to the news of the Emir’s removal from office, Naija News has gathered Crown Prince of Kano, Nasir Ado Bayero may be named as Sanusi’s replacement.

Alhaji Bayero is one of the sons of the former Emir of Kano, Abdullahi Ado Bayero. He is the Chiroman Kano (Crown Prince) and the District Head of Nassarawa in Kano State.
