Kogi: Gov Bello Sacks Commissioner, Two Others

Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State has denied reports that he was behind the plot to remove the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Adams Oshiomhole.

He debunked the claims through the state Commissioner for Information, Mr. Kingsley Fanwo, on Saturday.

Fanwo stated that Governor Bello will never do anything that will disrupt the peace of the party.

“Governor Yahaya Bello will never do anything that will disrupt the peace of APC.

“His interest has always been the peace and stability of the party.

“He is a true party man whose interest is the continued political relevance even beyond 2023,” he said.

Naija News reports had emerged that some governors and some ministers are behind Oshiomhole’s ordeal because they intend to hijack the party for personal gains.

Recall that the APC National Chairman was suspended indefinitely by a court order.

Justice Danladi Senchi, of the FCT High Court in Jabi, Abuja gave the verdict on Wednesday, 4th March, 2020.

According to the judge, Oshiomhole should remain suspended pending the determination of the substantive suit seeking his perpetual removal as chairman of the party.

However, a Federal High Court In Kano on Thursday set aside the ruling of the FCT High Court suspending Oshiomhole.

Justice Lewis Allagoa of the Kano High Court ordered the police and Department of State Service (DSS) to provide security for Oshiomhole to resume in his office.
