Former President Goodluck Jonathan has hailed ex-President Olusegun Obasanjo as a leader who has contributed years of distinguished service to Nigeria’s well being.
Jonathan made the submission on Thursday in his congratulatory message to Obasanjo on the occasion of his 83rd birthday.
Jonathan, in a statement on his Facebook page, prayed for more of God’s blessings on Chief Obasanjo.
“I join your family and Nigerians from all walks of life to celebrate you as you mark another birthday”, he said.
“You are an elder statesman and patriot with a distinguished record of service, loyalty, and love for our country Nigeria.”
“As you celebrate, my family and I pray that God will bless you with more years of glory, honour and sound health. Happy Birthday Your Excellency.
Meanwhile, Naija News previously reported that guests attending the 83rd birthday event of former President Olusegun Obasanjo are being screened for any signs of fever before access into the venue of the event.
The measure is in place at the event in the light of the dreaded Coronavirus, following the outbreak of the disease in Nigeria.
A colloquium on “The place of Pan Africanism in an Emerging World of Besieged Liberal Democracy”, is being held today (Thursday) at the at OOPL Events Centre in Ogun State as part of activities marking the former President’s birthday.
