Just In: Supreme Court Delivers Judgment On Rivers, Taraba And Sokoto Gov Elections Today

The Supreme Court is expected to give a final verdict on the Imo State governorship election tussle between the PDP and APC today, 3rd March, 2020.

It will be recalled that the Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP), and its governorship candidate in Imo State Emeka Ihedioha, filed an application for review of the apex court’s verdict which installed Governor Hope Uzodinma and his party, the All Progressives Congress, (APC) in Imo.

At Monday’s hearing, the case was adjourned to Tuesday (today) following a request by Kanu Agabi, counsel to Ihedioha, who asked the seven-man panel of justices to give him more time to file a reply to an application by Uzodinma’s legal team as he noted that some fresh documents had just been served on him before the court began sitting.

Barring any last-minute changes, the parties involved in the case are expected to know their fate today.

Ihedioha and the PDP challenging and seeking a reversal of the Supreme Court’s earlier judgment that sacked him (Ihedioha) as governor of Imo State and installed Senator Uzodinma.

Naija News recalls the Supreme Court in January 2020, sacked Emeka Ihedioha of the PDP and installed Hope Uzodinma of the APC as the authentic governor of Imo State.

This happened after the court agreed with him that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) wrongfully excluded the results of 388 polling units where he reportedly garnered high votes.
