Dele Omojuyigbe (Dr), has emerged the new Deputy Provost of the Nigerian Institute of Journalism (NIJ), a monotechnic institute located at Ijaye Road in Ogba, Lagos State, Nigeria’s commercial city.

Naija News reports that Dr Omojuyigbe, an alumnus of the former University of Ife now renamed Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), replaces Dr Jide Johnson, who held the “NIJ Deputy Provost” position until now.

This online news platform understands that Omojuyigbe was the Head of Department, General Studies of the Nigerian Institute of Journalism until his appointment as the new NIJ Deputy Provost.

Like Omojuyigbe, Mrs Patricia Kalesanwo has emerged the Acting Registrar of the institute, replacing Dotun Adeniji, who held the position for over a decade. Kalesanwo was the Students’ Affairs Officier of the institute before her appointment.

A statement issued by the institute said: “The Governing Council of the Nigerian Institute of Journalism has approved appointment of Dr Dele Omojuyigbe as the Deputy Provost of the institution.

“The council also approved the appointment of Mrs Patricia Kalesanwo as the Acting Registrar of the institution.

Meanwhile, Naija News reports that the Nigerian Institute of Journalism is a diploma awarding monotechnic established in 1963 by the International Press Institute. The Institution offers programmes leading to the award of diplomas in Mass Communication.
