Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu of Ondo State has declared that he does not require the help of Unity Forum to secure his second term seat in the state.

Akeredolu in a statement while commissioning a road project in Akure, the capital city of Ondo State, charged the members of the ‘Unity Forum’ to stay away from attempting to disrupt his activities. He, however, noted that he will only watch them fail.

Naija News recalls that the Ondo State Governor about a month ago denied the allegation that he is running a secrecy government in the state.

The governor further reveals that the Unity Forum had refused to give their backings to him in his first tenure and that he would not need it either as he pushes for his second term in the office.

Akeredolu was quoted to say that he would not require the support from the group headed by Alhaji Ali Olanusi. Adding that they have put up a challenge against his administration.

“Ali Olanusi, who was a Deputy Governor and Chairman of a political party could not tar a kilometre of road in his community,” said Akeredolu.

He stressed that those criticising him are ‘’blind and do not deserve to be pitied.’’

He added, “We will fight them no matter their age. How could a man of over 70 years be ganging up against a performing government? We will win with or without them.”
