Ganduje Mocks Kwankwaso Over FCT Ministerial Snub (Video)

The administration of Governor Abdullahi Ganduje of Kano has described Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso as ignorant over his call for the Supreme Court to review its ruling on the state governorship election.

Naija News recalls that Kwankwaso, who is the PDP leader in Kano, led some members of the party from the state to the national secretariat of the opposition party, asking the leadership of the PDP to support the call for a review of Kano governorship election.

This was disclosed in a statement last Wednesday by the Media Adviser to Abba Yusuf, Ibrahim Adam.

Kwankwaso appealed to the national working committee of the PDP to facilitate the process of the supreme court’s review on the Kano election case.

He lamented that Kano people were “robbed of their mandate through voter disenfranchisement and manipulation of judicial processes”.

Reacting in a statement on Sunday, Ganduje’s commissioner for Information, Muhammad Garba, said that the call for the review of the Supreme Court, the Court of Appeal and the Tribunal judgements are a clear testimony of Kwankwaso’s total obliviousness on the jurisdictional procedures that affirmed Ganduje’s election.

He said the former governor of the state and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) were calling for a review on no ground despite their glaring defeat.

Muhammad Garba said Kwankwaso, who is quoted to have claimed ‘’voter disenfranchisement and manipulation of judicial processes” in the Kano case, is just being driven by his mawkishness and apparently by the recent development in Imo and Bayelsa states, which scenarios are in no way comparable.

He said the petitioner (PDP) in Kano failed to neither substantively provide evidence that there was any irregularity in the election held on March 9 nor produce direct evidence to prove to the courts that they were not defeated in the March 23 supplementary election.

He said: ‘’What the Supreme Court ruled was the affirmation of the judgement of the tribunal and Court of Appeal. That is to say the PDP failed woefully to prove their case and that is the substance of the case. Therefore, there is no basis what so ever for review of Kano case.”
