Cleaners at the Cross River State government house have started a protest, following the non-payment of ten months salaries

The Governor’s office was allegedly stinking as cleaners that were assigned to empty bins were nowhere to be found this morning.

Naija News further learnt thatoverfilled toilets left unattended for several weeks within the complex have resulted in the invasion of maggots while the stench from unwashed toilets has also taken over most passages.

The cleaners whose take home pay ranges between ₦7, 000 and N13, 000 per month were said to have had a sit-at-home strike since September 2019.

Some of the cleaners who refused to be mentioned lamented their hardship, said their employments have not been ratified ever since they began work, while their pay is usually withheld.
