Former Liverpool striker, Michael Owen, has predicted the clash between English Premier League side, Liverpool and Atletico Madrid in the UEFA Champions League on Tuesday.

La Liga side, Atletico Madrid will host the Reds at the Wanda Metropolitano Stadium in the Champions League round of 16 first-leg fixture.

Diego Simeone’s side head to the match following their 2-2 draw with Valencia in La Liga last weekend, while the Liverpool defeated Norwich City 1-0 on Saturday.

Owen while speaking with Sport Review said: “Liverpool goes into Tuesday’s Champions League clash against Atletico Madrid at the Wanda Metropolitan Stadium with almost fully fit squad where they won their sixth Champions League trophy last June.”

“Diego Simeone’s side is unbeaten in their last thirteen Champions League knockout fixtures at home, but Atletico has some few injuries worries going into today’s game.”

“Jurgen Klopp’s men were not at their best against Norwich City in the Premier League last Saturday, but they found a way to beat the visitors by 1-0.”

“However, I see Liverpool leaving Spain with a draw to take back to England.”

“I feel it would be an honour for Atletico even to get a point against the Premier League leaders.”

The match is scheduled for 9 pm.
