Amidst the confusion and threat caused daily by the increase in the death toll of the deadly disease, Coronavirus, Naija News has learned that robbers in Hong Kong now rob malls to steal toilet rolls due to its shortage.

In a report delivered on Monday morning, it was said that some knife-wielding men had attacked a delivery man of toilet rolls, which has become a scarce commodity in Hong Kong due to the Wuhan coronavirus.

Naija News understands that Hong Kong is now suffering from a shortage in toilet rolls following high demand and usage by residents after the outbreak of the deadly Coronavirus attack.

As contained in a report by the Hong Kong Police, “Armed robbers in Hong Kong made off with hundreds of toilet rolls worth more than HKD1,000.”

“Knife-wielding men robbed a delivery man outside a supermarket in the Mong Kok district.”

The Police further reports that the two men have been arrested and recovered some of the stolen rolls.

“The armed robbery had taken place in Mong Kok, a district of Hong Kong with a history of triad crime gangs, early on Monday,” a local source report.

“The robbers had threatened a delivery worker who had unloaded rolls of toilet paper outside Wellcome Supermarket,” he added.

Meanwhile, a report by an Apple Daily had claimed that “600 toilet paper rolls, valued at around HKD1,695 ($218; £167), had been stolen.”

In a report on Friday, Naija News reported that an official of the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), Emeka Oguanuo, has revealed that two persons who came into Nigerian from China have tested negative to coronavirus.

Naija News reports that the NCDC was conducting tests on travellers from China.

In a statement, Chikwe Ihekweazu, NCDC director-general, had advised suspected cases of coronavirus patients to call the centre instead of going to a hospital.
