Shehu Sani, former Senator representing Kaduna Central and Wole Soyinka, Nobel Laureate are present at a federal high court in Abuja to witness the trial of Omoyele Sowore, convener of RevolutionNow Movement.

Recall that the trial which was initially scheduled to hold yesterday was adjourned till today, following the absence of Justice Ijeoma Ojukwu of the Federal High Court, Abuja.

The hearing has been adjourned till Wednesday.

NaijaNews learnt that the courtroom was empty aside from the court registrar and few workers carrying out their duties when the court was visited this morning.

Soyinka got to the court around 8:50am, five minutes before Sowore arrived at the court.

Recall that both Sowore and Olawale Bakare, his co-accused, is facing trial on seven counts of treasonable felony, fraud, cyber-stalking and of insulting the president.

The Department of State Services (DSS) had arrested him on August 3 ahead of a nationwide protest.

He was however released after 124 days in custody but forcibly rearrested at a federal high court in Abuja, less than 24 hours after his release.

He was eventually released on December 24, 2019.

The former National Security Adviser to ex-president Goodluck Jonathan, Sambo Dasuki, was also released by the DSS on the same day.
