Ex-Imo Governor Ihedioha Mourns As He Loses Mother

Hours after newly installed Governor of Imo State, Hope Uzodinma declared that he will no longer tolerate any protest against his victory in the Imo governorship election, the governor has received a support from an APC chieftain, Austin Okeze Meregini, who challenged immediate governor, Emeka Ihedioha for demanding a review in the Supreme Court ruling.

Naija News recalls that former Imo State Governor, Emeka Ihedioha was sacked by the Supreme Court in January, and declared Hope Uzodinma as the duly elected Governor of Imo State.

Speaking about the Emeka Ihedioha’s application for a review of the Supreme Court judgment that removed him as governor of Imo, Okeze noted that such application would only amount to a mockery of the judicial system and an insult to the majority of Nigerians.

This Okezie said while speaking with newsmen on Friday in Umuahia.

Naija News understands that Okezie was the APC candidate for Umuahia East in the Abia House of Assembly during 2019 election.

Meanwhile, Emeka Ihedioha, and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Imo State in the application, has called on the Supreme Court to set aside the judgment delivered in favour of Hope Uzodinma of the All Progressives Congress.

Ihedioha and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) filed their application through their lawyer Chief Kanu Agabi, SAN, pursuant to Section 6 (6) of the 1999 Constitution as amended and Section 22 of the Supreme Court Act, 2004.

Ihedioha noted that the apex court was misled into giving the ruling, he charged the court to set aside its decision.
