Police Officer Commits Suicide In Lagos Cell

Naija News learned that a frustrated police officer has killed himself in Lagos State after he was accused and detained for allegedly responsible for the death of a man.

The officer whose name is identified as Eze reportedly hanged himself in a cell where he was locked in, at the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department, Yaba.

It was reported that Eze was arrested sometimes ago at Dangote factory, where he was attached to for allegedly shooting a man dead.

According to a source who confirmed the incident to newsmen, he disclosed that “Eze brought to the state CID for investigation and prosecution.”

“But he hanged himself in the cell around 2 am today. He was attached to the Dangote factory and shot a man dead,” he said.

However, when reached to, the States Police Public Relations Officer, Bala Elkana, said that he would return the call when he gets a further report on the incident, which he had yet to do so, said the source.

Meanwhile, an accident on Monday had claimed the lives of a commercial tricycle operator and his four passengers in Bayelsa State, as reported by Naija News.

It was gathered that they were crushed to death along the Tombia-Amassoma Road in Yenagoa, the state capital at about 7:30 pm when the tricycle and the tipper crashed into one another.
