1. Okada Ban: Police Clash With Hoodlums As Massive Protests Hit Lagos State

Fresh protests have hit the streets of Lagos state over the decision by the government to ban motorcycles (Okada) and tricycles (Keke) in certain areas of Lagos.

Lagosians woke up on Monday to great difficulties in getting to work, offices, schools and other places as the government ban on Keke and Okada took effect.

2. Visa Ban: We Warned Buhari Led Government But They Ignored Us- United States

The Donald Trump-led administration has revealed how they warned the Nigerian government of impending action since March 11, 2019, but the Sub-Saharan country failed to take any proactive measures.

Speaking further why the immigration visa ban was imposed on Nigeria in a proclamation published on the White House website, the US said Nigeria and the five other affected countries were among the worst-performing in the world.

Yerima Shettima, the President-General of the Arewa Youths Consultative Forum, has declared his support that Nigerian Security Chiefs should be sacked.

Nigeria’s Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, has aired the federal government’s perception on the recent ban of ‘Okada’ and tricycles in some parts of Lagos State.

Speaking on Sunrise Daily, Amaechi, said the federal government does not have the jurisdiction to intervene in the recent ban of ‘okada’ and tricycles in some parts of Lagos State. The matter is strictly a state affair.

The Governor of Benue State, Samuel Ortom has warned political leaders in the country to take urgent steps to combat high poverty and unemployment levels in Nigeria.

The Governor urged that except drastic steps are taken, Nigerian is sitting on a time bomb with a World Bank report recently indicating the country might be the World headquarters of poverty with 87 million extremely poor persons.

Chief Femi Fani-Kayode on Monday, disagreed with earlier submissions that the arrested suicide bomber who attempted to blow up a church in Kaduna State is a Christian named Nathaniel Samuel.

The former Aviation Minister, rather declared that the man is a Hausa Fulani Muslim by name, Mohammed Nasiru Sani.

Amidst fears of the deadly Coronavirus claiming lives in China which has also spread to some other countries of the world, some Nigerians have been cornered in the Wuhan district as death toll increases.

According to reports made available to the media on Monday, more numbers have been added to the death toll as records of the infected person also increase.

9. Ex-NYSC Member Rejects Freedom, Joins Boko Haram

A former member of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has reportedly turned down negotiation attempts to free him from Boko Haram terrorists.

The ex-corps member, identified as Abraham Amuta made his stance known to negotiators who went to the Sambisa Forest to secure his release.

10. APC Reacts To Recent Boko Haram Killings In Nigeria

The ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has condemned the activities and killings by the dreaded Boko Haram sect in Nigeria.

The party, however, noted that Boko Haram is a common enemy, blind to religion, politics, and tribe, warning that those running commentaries along political and ethno-religious lines should desist from doing so.
