Court Remands Five Drug Barons In Lagos

The Lagos State Magistrates’ Court sitting in Igbosere, on Monday sentenced Bode Badamosi to one-year imprisonment for stealing his employer’s car.

A report had it that the 30-year-old man on January 21, 2020, at the Nigerian Stock Exchange, Marina, Lagos, stole a blue Honda Accord car with number plate APP 788 EA and chassis number IHCP26838A809355 worth N2.6m and belonging to one Lukman Adekola.

It was gathered that the accused stole the car and ran to Port Harcourt, River State, after dropping off Adekola at the NSE.

Badamosi who stole his boss’s car decided to park it in an estate for two days to seek a buyer which he got on the third day.

The buyer did not buy the vehicle and while he was standing with the vehicle, Badamosi was approached by some policemen, who asked for the owner of the car, but the accused claimed that it belonged to his boss in Lagos.

Badamosi was immediately arrested and arraigned on one count of stealing, which he pleaded guilty to.

The prosecutor, Tope Adegbite, told the court that the offence was contrary to Section 287 (7)(10) of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.

Adegbite while speaking on the offence revealed that the accused stole the car fifteen days after he was employed.

Following the facts before the court, Magistrate A. A. Runsewe sentenced him to one-year imprisonment.
